About 5 to 10 hours of work, in Photoshop CS4.
Original pic had a low res of 463 to 700 px, hi contrast and low saturation. My brother Stefan helped with critique in the final stages.

I think there are some nice improvements in CS4, but this vector could also be done in Photoshop 7 without a problem
